Dosely — Pool & Hot Tub Care

Getting Started

How do I get a dose recommendation?

Add your pool or hot tub (with its water volume), then tap "Log a test" and enter your readings. Dosely calculates the exact chemicals to add and how much — in the right order, with wait times. You can review the steps before adding anything.

Which readings do I enter?

Free chlorine (or bromine), pH, total alkalinity, cyanuric acid (CYA), calcium hardness, and salt — depending on your water type. You only need to fill in what you've tested; Dosely works with whatever readings you provide.

I don't know my pool's volume.

Use the built-in volume calculator. Pick your shape — rectangle, round, oval, or kidney — enter the dimensions and average depth, and Dosely estimates the gallons (or liters) for you. Accurate volume is the single most important input for correct dosing.

Dosing & Water

What chemicals does it recommend?

Dosely is brand-neutral. It works with common products like liquid chlorine, cal-hypo, dichlor, muriatic acid, dry acid, soda ash, baking soda, calcium chloride, cyanuric acid, and pool salt — whatever you have on hand. It never pushes you toward a specific brand.

Does it support saltwater pools and hot tubs?

Yes. Dosely handles chlorine, saltwater, and bromine systems, and treats pools and hot tubs/spas separately, each with the right target ranges. You set the type when you add the water.

What units does it use?

Doses are shown in oz, lb, gallons, grams, or liters. You can switch between imperial and metric in Settings.

Is it safe to just follow the dose?

Treat dosing as guidance, not gospel. Always verify with your own test kit and follow the product label. Add chemicals one at a time in the recommended order, observe wait times, and never mix chemicals directly. Results depend on accurate readings and an accurate water volume.

Trends & Reminders

How do trend charts work?

Every test you log is plotted over time with target bands for pH, chlorine, alkalinity and more, so you can see a parameter drifting before your water turns green. Trend charts and full history are part of Premium.

What reminders can I set?

Dosely can remind you to test your water and to perform maintenance — shock, clean the filter, and drain & refill. Test reminders are available free; the full maintenance schedule is part of Premium. Reminders use local notifications, which you can enable or disable in iOS Settings.

Free vs Premium

What's free vs Premium?

Free: one pool or hot tub, the full dosing calculator, the last 30 days of history, and water-test reminders. Premium: unlimited pools and hot tubs, full history, trend charts with target bands, smart maintenance reminders (test, shock, filter, drain & refill), and season report PDF export.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — the Premium Annual plan ($29.99/year) includes a 7-day free trial. You'll only be charged at the end of the trial. Cancel anytime in your Apple ID subscription settings before the trial ends.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Settings inside the App and tap "Restore Purchases". This re-applies your active subscription if you've previously purchased one on this Apple ID.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions. Find Dosely and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Privacy

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone. Dosely has no account and no cloud — your pools, tests, and history never leave your device, and everything works offline. You can confirm by turning on Airplane Mode; the App still works. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

What permissions does the app need?

Only Notifications, and only if you want test and maintenance reminders. Dosely does not request your microphone, camera, photos, contacts, or location.
